Διάκριση Για Την 131 ΣΜ

Tο περασμένο Σεπτέμβριο στην 131ΣΜ - που λειτουργεί και ως Προκεχωρημένη Βάση Επιχειρήσεων για τα ΝΑΤΟικά AWACS - ο διοικητής του  NATO E-3A Component, Υποπτέραρχος Andrew Mueller ως πλήρωμα AWACS, υπήρξε μάρτυρας της "διοικησης" που ασκήθηκε και της προσπάθειας του προσωπικού, που κλήθηκε να αντικαταστήσει κινητήρα και να αποκαταστήσει τις βλάβες που παρουσίασαν δύο αεροσκάφη.

Capt. Kostas Anagnostou, who is No.4 in the FOB seniority, was forced to be the acting FOB (Forward Operating Base) commander for some exhaustive days during last September, because of sudden operational contingencies. During that week and under his directions and sudden command, the Hellenic team serviced two malfunctioned E-3As successfully and also performed an E-3A engine change augmented by MOB personnel.

The Component commander, who was by coincidence part of the crew and was a witness of his excellent performance, personally acknowledged the efforts of the FOB leadership and Kostas. COM’s (Component commander) appreciation letter was forwarded via official channels following the chain of command and reached the Hellenic Air Force leadership. Such as, “a circle of many jobs well done” was completed.
